Job Title: Certification Coordinator II

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Senior Manager, AW609 Certification

Location(s): Philadelphia, PA USA

1. Summary of Position:

 Be the interface with the FAA, help build the paperwork packages for the FAA as defined in FAA Order 8110.4 “Type Certification” and maintain records for a fly-by-wire aircraft being certified under 14 CFR part 21.17(b) “Special Class” and other part 27 / part 29 aircrafts. Execute procedures for producing FAA approvals and FAA conformity records. Establish data retention per FAA requirements. Produce 3D pdf from released design data to be included in the FAA Requests For Conformity.

 This Position requires good interpersonal and project management skills in order to effectively interface with all levels of program personnel, including different Company Departments (Engineering, Procurement and Program Management), Designees (DERs, DARs and DMIRs) and FAA.

Draft Request for Conformity inspection (RFC), including generation of 3D pdf from released design data. Track RFCs and maintain Conformity records.

Maintain certification procedures and designee records; coordinate FAA and designee communications.

Maintain the administrative aspects of the Company’s certification procedures, and organize and maintain Type Certification files.

Coordinate official communications with the FAA and its designees.

Assist with responses to inquiries, significant certification issues and airworthiness concerns

  1. Qualifications for Position

A. Education

BS in Engineering discipline or BA in Business Technology Administration required

B. Experience

• Ten (10) years overall work experience in an administrative support role, two (2) of which supporting a technical function involving aircraft engineering, manufacturing or quality.

C. Competencies & Attributes

1.

Must possess general knowledge of data pertaining to aircraft engineering, quality and certification, and be familiar with FAA forms and acronyms.

2.

Good interpersonal skills and communication skills; ability to make decisions in the presence of ambiguity; ability to resolve conflicts in an expedient and effective manner.

3.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); Familiarity with drawing management suites (Enovia) and 3D Modeling

4.

High level of integrity to win trust of certification authorities and designees.

5.

Proficiency in project engineering including planning, tracing, and managing complex projects.
