We are looking for a Credit Analyst to work in any of the following branches: Cartersville, Chatsworth, or Gainesville.

The Credit Analyst as the overall responsibility for completing credit underwriting and performing analysis to identify financial strengths and weaknesses on loan applications for new credit as well as servicing an existing portfolio. This position considers unique financial characteristics of each customer and evaluates and identifies risk. The Credit Analyst recommends loan controls and structure to fit individual needs while controlling risk to the association.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assures complete credit underwriting, financial and risk analysis, documentation, and risk identification on loan applications for new credit and existing customers. 
  • Recommends credit decisions working with customers, loan officers, loan processors or anyone else involved in the application. 
  • Make recommendations regarding terms, security, and loan controls which are necessary to maintaining an acceptable credit risk to the association. 
  • Communicates closing requirements to the relationship manager and loan processor and make recommendations for loan-servicing plans according to the association policy. 
  • Demonstrates a sense of pride in work and attention to detail, striving for error-free work. 
  • Demonstrates sound understanding of financial analysis and proficient use of system software and have a working knowledge of basic loan servicing practices. 
  • Has a working knowledge of individual tax return analysis and common commodities serviced by the association. 
  • Works independently in tasks as assigned with a moderate level of direct supervision. 
  • Communicates effectively with other in the loan application process, including managers, loan processors, member service representatives, and anyone else involved. 
  • Assists with projects as assigned by Regional Credit Administrators and/or Chief Credit Officer. 
  • Attends management recommended training and other trainings to develop analytical skills and lending knowledge. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

What you will need for this role: 

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of credit analysis and techniques from experience in agriculture-related work or commercial finance or educational equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Ability to utilize skills and knowledge to maximize customer service while maintaining satisfactory credit administration, risk analysis and meet Association goals.
  • Capability to handle high stress situations in a businesslike and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work assignments.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and familiarity with reporting and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to employ diplomacy and tact with various internal and external contacts. 
  • Self-starter; problem-solving, and time management skills; knowledge of agriculture.
