Position Overview: The Agricultural Sales Representative role is considered an invaluable member of the Crop Protection organization and must have the enthusiasm, vision, drive, creativity and interpersonal skills to succeed in meeting the financial objectives of the company. This position requires an understanding of the crops and farming techniques of the assigned target geographies.
The person that holds this position is responsible for creating demand at the retail and grower level and will also partner with retailers and grower customers, forecasting to achieve sales of Agricultural products to deliver sales goals according to a monthly budget as part of the commercial team. This role originates user experience trials, retailer and grower meetings as part of the launch of new products.
The Agricultural Sales Representative is also responsible for creating, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with customers and potential customers, thereby driving repeat sales and growth.
Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Meet and exceed monthly/Annual Revenue goals by managing sales activity according to agreed market strategy.
  • Conduct Pull through activities and demand creation with retail, growers and centers of influence .
  • Manage designated accounts, business planning and forecasting.
  • Attend Industry events on behalf of the company.
  • Execute all outside activities required by the company.
  • Work closely and coordinate activities with the Inside Sales Team and the Accountability Lead.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve company results outside of assigned geography when requested.
  • Maintain proper documentation within the CRM tool of choice.
  • Execute administrative responsibilities both internally and with customers in a timely manner.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Some agricultural related experience and knowledge of the Value chain.
  • Demonstrate insights into future trends and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within a culture of collaboration, accountability and teamwork.
  • Exceptional customer service and follow up skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Possess foundation for strategic and tactical selling of innovation.
  • Skilled in G suite and CRM tools ( at this time Hubspot).
Travel: This role is entirely field based. At periods of time there may be significant travel involved.
Location: Candidate will be field based out of California covering Northern California, Stockton CA, Bakersfield CA, and Yuma AZ.
