Job Description:


SCOPE OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for planning, developing and coordinating the training and development activities of the organization. This position is responsible for team building initiatives across the organization. Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws. Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: Honesty, Excellence Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop a strong understanding and appreciation of the company’s organizational structure, corporate culture and business objectives in order to develop and implement training and development programs which are aligned with and sensitive to the corporation’s organizational values and objectives.
  • Increase departments cohesiveness, productivity, and efficiency by developing team building activities that require team members to work together.
  • Serve as internal consultant/liaison to management and employees on training and development needs that affect performance and business relationships.
  • Develop relationships and promote mutually beneficial partnerships with employees, clients, key stakeholders, constituents, other healthcare organizations and the community at large.
  • Analyze training and development expenditures of the organization to recommend effective and cost-efficient strategies.
  • Develop strategies, project activities, and work plans; execute project work plans; monitor to assure compliance, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Understand and utilize HRIS software and Bridge LMS to document, collect, and interpret training and development data to meet contractual and other reporting requirements. Maintain accurate statistical data. Create and report as needed.
  • Facilitate mission goals across teams at the organizational level.
  • Serve as AFMC representative at various external functions, as directed.
  • Serve as liaison between departments and vendors in the acquisition of training and development courses, seminars, etc.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires, as needed.
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on contract requirements, contract changes, and other factors.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids and other materials.
  • Train managers and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • Adhere to format, content and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Intermediate skill level with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Type 40 wpm.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):
Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress and ability to travel as needed. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma
Desirable: Associate’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three (3) years’ HR related experience with knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
