The power electronics engineer will be responsible for the development, manufacturing, and testing of high-frequency motor drive systems, grid-connected inverters, and inverter design, along with achieving all certifications and coordinating system integration. Industry knowledge in Aerospace/Auto or Medical will be considered.
Position Responsibilities:
· Responsible for product design, development, and testing for the company’s line of high-frequency motor drives and inverters from concept to production.
· Develop solutions for power circuits and control circuits to achieve extreme power density for demanding environments.
· Demonstrate an ability for problem-solving in a team environment.
· Direct and perform all associated analysis to verify design, including thermal and EMI.
· Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including mechanical and manufacturing.
· Define product acceptance test requirements and develop test plans.
· Oversee product testing and support troubleshooting to validate and finalize design.
· Ensure all designs are well documented, develop procedures and manuals.
· Knowledge of electrical standards/codes
Position Qualifications:
· Master’s preferred but BS in Power Electronics will be considered.
· 3 years of motor drive and power electronics experience. If only Simulink exp. that is fine.
· Knowledgeable in position sensor less motor control, field-oriented vector control, closed loop control/stability for permanent magnet motors and generators.
· Schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD, Altium, PAD or KiCAD for high-frequency circuit design, applications using wide band gap semiconductors IGTBs, SiC, GaN.
· Proficient in using a variety of simulation tools such as LTspice, Simulink, PLECS for designing and verifying inverter control systems.
· Knowledge of design of ancillary circuitry such as electronic filters and communications.
· Ability to coordinate and manage 3rd-party vendors, such as PCB manufacturing resources.
· Proficient in using a variety of test equipment and electronic laboratory instruments.
