Affinia Healthcare is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near St. Louis, MO

POSITION SUMMARY: The Communications Specialist will support development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies, and a variety of organizational initiatives aligned to branding, communications, employee engagement and organizational culture. The types of content the Communication Specialist may develop and implement include -- but is not limited to - internal communication collateral, press releases, newsletters, email blasts, announcements, social media posts, and website and intranet site content. The Communications Specialist must have the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view, and be self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized. You should be able to pay attention to details, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

LOCATION: Ferguson (North County)

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, strategic marketing or other relevant field of study from an accredited university

Experience: One (1) - Three (3) years' experience in communications role or similar capacity

Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  1. Superior writing skills, with proven ability to create engaging content in a timely manner
  2. Familiarity with social media
  3. Ability to communicate complex subjects in laymen's language to multiple stakeholder groups
  4. Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, develop project plans and meet deadlines
  5. Ability to work independently with sound critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  6. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and all major social media sites (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  7. Familiarity with Adobe products desired
  8. Familiarity with AP style
  9. Outstanding interpersonal skills with an excellent customer service orientation
  10. Ability to maintain strong working relationships with business partners
  11. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, appreciate that every day is different, and possesses the ability to pivot quickly

Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

  1. Create and deliver content for a variety of purposes, including organizational announcements and program launches, press releases, websites, digital and print signage and flyers and graphics, intranet, newsletters, social media, and other sources as appropriate.
  2. Interview subjects and research topics to write press releases and media advisories.
  3. Create content (images, text, photos, etc.) for social media posts.
  4. Collaborate with business partners to create flyers, signage to promote and inform public and staff of programs, events, etc.
  5. Assist Communications Director with website updates and special events planning.
  6. Basic video production and editing.
  7. Develop content and monitor communications channels, including digital channels, social media, and on-site facility communications.
  8. Follow communications calendar to coordinate timing, volume and channels used for internal and external messaging
  9. Take photos, video to document, and promote health center programs and events.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
