AFCO Performance Group will be hiring a CNC Machining Manager in Boonville, Indiana. Due to exploding market demand for our products, we are looking for an experienced machining expert that has a passion for leading people, enjoys problem solving, and helping the business meet project deadlines.
The ideal candidate will apply years of machining experience to procure parts that help the team produce products, exceeding customer expectations in auto racing markets around the world. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 1st shift; no nights or weekends.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety culture is top of mind.
Lead by modeling the way and intentional development of the CNC machining team.
Train and mentor CNC machinists as needed.
Promote 6S and organization / cleanliness.
Schedule work for the CNC machining team based on reports from the production planning department.
Ensure quality protocols are followed and continuously improved upon.
Create CNC programs that optimize output on lathes with live tooling and vertical mills with 3, 4, and 5 axis capability.
Stay abreast of the current advancements in machining technologies and continuously improve capabilities of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
Ten years of experience & training in the use of CNC machining equipment. Manual machining equipment operation is a plus. At minimum, a two-year technical degree is preferred.
Capable of reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and GD&T.
Capable of using measurement and dimensional inspection equipment such as CMM’s, vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Capability of estimating machining and set-up times for future workload.
Experience with diagnosing machine problems and performing small repairs.
Programming efficiently in Mastercam from a 3D model.
Ability to utilize Solidworks and CREO to manipulate files and gather relevant design details.
Ability to design and fabricate machining fixtures.
Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must recognize and acknowledge the high moral quality and goodwill of the company.
Must understand and acknowledge that employee is exposed to trade secrets or other information that is proprietary to AFCO and must agree to maintain the confidentiality of both.
