Summary
The Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist role enables alignment and communication of regulatory processes, procedures, guidelines and tools cross regionally.
In conjunction with the Regulatory Affairs functional leader and with support from local regulatory affairs staff, the role identifies opportunities for regional alignment and implementation of tools, documentation, and processes in order to deliver a consistent approach to compliance, import, and export activities as well as standardizing external documentation to present a consistent experience for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates product registrations in North America. Aligns guidelines for assessments based on regional regulations and AFB internal standards.
Assists in the development and implementation of the regulatory aspects of global tools and processes, including AssurX approvals, IFS attribute assessments and set up, documentation archiving, ticketing systems, and registration standards.
Acts as a team member representing regulatory affairs on global AFB initiatives. Compiles and coordinates regulatory information for product labels, import / export certificates, questionnaires, and product attributes for use by internal and external customers.
Maintain and updates records relating to international regulations for finished products and raw materials. Reviews product formulas to ensure compliance with applicable domestic and international regulations as assigned.
Fulfills international registration documentation requirements as assigned.
Requirements
Required :
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, or other related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 1 year of related experience.
Desired :
Master’s Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, or other related field of study.
2-5 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities :
Basic working knowledge and ability to interpret current domestic (USDA, FDA, AAFCO) and international regulations.
Ability to effectively devise and communicate regulatory responses (written and verbal) to peers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills.
