Superior Weighting Products is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their state of the art barite mill in Corpus Christi. This mill operates 24 hours and requires rigorous and continuous overhaul, maintenance and periodic electrical troubleshooting. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is a hands on position responsible for cleaning, maintaining, fabricating, rebuilding, and repairing Company plant equipment with the goal of ensuring minimal plant downtime and adhering to the Company’s overall Quality Management System. The Maintenance Supervisor will also be required to oversee all maintenance activities including supervision of all plant personnel preforming maintenance work.

LOCATION: Corpus Christi - Relocation Available

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, supervises maintenance personnel, including involvement in recruitment, supervision, scheduling work, development, training and coaching, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Determines appropriate work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Prepares JSA for projects and ensures that all safety protocols are adhered to. 
• Troubleshoots high voltage (440 volts) electrical process control circuits if systems go down. 
• Performs scheduled lubrication, maintenance, and clean-up (as directed) for all plant equipment.
• Repairs all plant equipment within the scope of his/her skill level.
• Welds and fabricates chutes, hoppers, piping, equipment supports, and other plant equipment and machinery.
• Assists plant production personnel, when and as requested by Company management.
• Timely performs Raymond Roller mill rebuilds to reduce mill downtime.
• Develops and maintains preventive maintenance schedule and records activity for all plant equipment.
• Reviews, tracks, and immediately reports to plant management any/all issues with plant equipment that could impact production processes, output, deadlines, workplace safety, and/or product quality.
• Responsible for housekeeping and managing inventory of the tool storage area, the shop area, any work area after the overhaul or repair of equipment or any fabrication projects, lube/oil storage area, diesel tank area, air compressor area, front drive area, and performs breakroom clean up, when and as requested.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and tests plant equipment, machinery, and components.
• Identifies and orders replacement parts for plant equipment and researches and makes recommendations for procurement, when and as needed.
• Loads bulk or flatbed trucks, when and as needed.
• Ensures maintenance team performs all duties safely in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements and ensures the proper PPE is distributed.
• Supports and participates in the Company’s Quality Management System.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and may be called on to assist with other production-related activities when and as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Five (5) years of plant Maintenance Supervisory experience is essential.
• Experience with electrical control circuits and high voltage (440) volt systems is required. 
• High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree in mechanical repair or another relevant field is a plus.
• At least five (5) years of prior relevant maintenance-related work experience; prior work experience involving mill maintenance would be highly advantageous.
• Prior experience working in an MHSA-regulated environment is a plus.
• Crane operator certification and work experience is essential.
• Some welding work experience is helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to the Company.
