Essential Functions:
• Analyze and interpret engineering specifications needed for a project.
• Plan resources for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
• Assure accuracy of overall project plan, including design, cost estimates, material usage, and testing.
• Responsible for keeping projects on plan timeline and deliverables, both by internal and external resources.
• Work with internal teams, customers, and vendors to facilitate effective communication.
• Prepare reports of project data, evaluate, and provide recommendations based on findings. Lead or contribute input for improvements.
• Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
• Coordinate activities across all disciplines with a stake in the project release (engineering, programs, purchasing, manufacturing, production test etc.).
• Manage the initial release of designs to production.
• Perform change request management.
• Drive priorities across multiple projects.
• Proactively manage issues and work to remove roadblocks.
• Schedule pre-production builds and appropriate resources.
• Report on project financial, technical, and schedule status to management.
• Require experience in a manufacturing environment and project management.
• Manage priorities and resources for continued improvement of released products.
• Support activities to address quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
• Help build and share best practices across the company.
• Travel may be necessary, based on position.
• US Citizenship may be required, based on position.
Education & Experience:
• Experienced engineer with 5 years of career experience, with bachelor’s degree. 3 years’ experience with master’s degree. PHD entry level. Or experience in lieu of education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Technical Proficiency: Competency to design tools/software and a foundation understanding of engineer principles for practical application.
• Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify design challenges, propose solutions, and trouble shoot issues with guidance.
• Communication Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts, collaborate within teams, and covey ideas effectively.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies, methodologies, and adapt to project requirements and team dynamics.
• Analytical Thinking: Capacity to analyze data, interpret specifications, and contribute to design solutions.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
