We are seeking motivated Project Engineers to join our team. Project assignment to start will be located in Brandon, SD and includes Bridge and Heavy Civil Construction.

DESCRIPTION:

As a Project Engineer at Lunda Construction, reporting to the VP- Minnesota, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support a field team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, etc.
• Build relationships and communicates with field teams including design partners, subcontractors, and project lead
• Understand and assist with project layout
• Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items
• Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders
• Demonstrate understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction field
• Interpret designs and drawings for crafts installing
• Review mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications
• Understand subcontractor job specifications and scope of work
• Responsible for the review and maintenance of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinates with QA/QC
• Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications
• Create and process RFI’s
• Understand the schedule in coordination with field crews to execute the work
• Help develop or review design and work plans as required
• Understand company safety program and participates in safety inspections
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering field from an accredited institution
• 2 plus years of experience in Heavy Civil construction preferred
• Experience in Construction Industry, especially in Heavy Civil a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
• Experience or familiarity with Primavera (P6) is a plus
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
• Demonstrate consistent ability to be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough
• Proactive communication & collaboration with internal and external partners
• Solution oriented problem solver
• Excellent verbal and written skills

This is a position requires travel to Brandon, SD
