Aerometals is looking to add the following position:

Calibration Technician

Experience level: 3 years of calibration/inspection experience

Pay range: $25-$32 /hour

Aerometals is looking for a responsible employee with a background in calibration and/or mechanical inspections using inspection tools. This role requires you to have great attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to multitask. A clear understanding of the manufacturing process, blueprints, specifications, and travelers is beneficial. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail, will be reliable and committed, and is able to be productive without direct supervision.

The ideal candidate should be able to:

• Perform verification on inspection tools and instrumentation.
• Manage tool calibration software.
• Effectively communicate with vendors
• Track progress on all tasks and update lead as needed.
• Perform mechanical inspections to ensure all equipment meets established standards and consistently produces accurate and reliable results.
• Interpret and work directly from drawings, calibration procedures, Aerometals specifications, manufacturer’s instructions, and/or applicable military specifications to complete verifications/calibrations.
• Ensure the maintenance of calibration records and traceability to applicable military standards and specifications.
• Review all calibration data and records for completeness, accuracy, and reporting of significant out of tolerance conditions.
• Research historical too usage if out of tolerance conditions are found.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement to assist in the calibration of equipment in an orderly, efficient, and safe manner.
• Manage small projects as assigned by lead.
• Review, research, and document suspect nonconforming products submitted by production personnel via a nonconformance report.
• Understand and comply with NIST and AS9100 requirements.

Qualification Requirements:

Pass required vision examination.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Skills:

• The ability to read prints and specifications
• The ability to review certifications to verify conformance
• Use of hand tools and surface plate set-up
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5M
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs

Experience:

• 3 years minimum experience in calibration and/or mechanical inspection

Training: On the job training.
