ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As a Food Manufacturing Sanitation Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the food manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibility is to develop, implement, and oversee sanitation programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will lead a team of sanitation workers and collaborate with other departments to create a safe and sanitary production environment thats considered best in class.

WHAT YOULL DO:

1. Sanitation Program Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sanitation programs to meet regulatory and industry standards.

  • Establish SSOPs, MSS cleaning schedules, work instructions, and procedures for all equipment, production areas, and facilities.

2. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and sanitation.

  • Ensure the facility's compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and coordinate inspections.

3. Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a sanitation team, providing guidance, regular training, and performance feedback.

  • Schedule and coordinate sanitation activities to optimize efficiency and minimize production disruptions.

4. Equipment and Facility Inspection:

  • Regularly inspect production equipment, surfaces, and facilities for cleanliness and adherence to sanitation standards.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to address sanitation-related issues promptly.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and corrective actions taken.

  • Generate reports for management, detailing sanitation performance, trends, and areas for improvement.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in sanitation procedures.

  • Implement corrective and preventive measures to address sanitation issues and prevent recurrences.

7. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with production, quality control, and safety teams to ensure a holistic approach to food safety and sanitation.

  • Communicate sanitation goals, standards, and expectations to all relevant stakeholders.

8. Training and Development:

  • Conduct regular training sessions for sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and safety procedures.

  • Stay informed about new sanitation technologies and best practices and incorporate them into the training program.

9. Emergency Response:

  • Develop and implement emergency sanitation procedures to address unforeseen issues, such as contamination events or product recalls.

WHAT YOULL BRING:

Preferred: Bachelors degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field.

Proven experience in sanitation management within the food manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.

Summary of Benefits:
Base salary, annual company/performance bonus, eligible for equity, matching 401k with no vesting period, 4 weeks of vacation/sick time/PTO, group health plan including medical, dental, vision etc.

In accordance with organizational protocol, employees will at times be required to fill absences in the operation process that are equal to or lower than their positional hierarchy. Additionally, if an employee is absent, the role of the absent employee is to be completed by their immediate superior. Internal candidates seeking a promotion must have completed a minimum of six months in their current role and/or have less than four attendance points, with no corrective actions before becoming eligible for consideration.
