Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager (Traffic, Intelligent Transportation System & Technology) to be based in Seattle, WA, Salt Lake City, UT, Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Albuquerque, NM, and Phoenix, AZ . This position has the option to be a hybrid type schedule.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work as a project manager for small and medium projects from DOTs and municipal agencies for task orders through on-call contracts and standalone projects
Works as task lead for ITS, Lighting and Traffic disciplines for big projects including multidiscipline
Develop scope of services for ITS planning & design, traffic engineering studies & design, and emerging technology projects
Provides oversight and direction to project team members and subconsultants
Interact directly with clients at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet engineering standards
Interact directly with other disciplines such as roadway, drainage, structures, MOT, geotechnical, water, and environment and coordinate design
Conduct and execute technical work in the field of traffic engineering, ITS and emerging technology
Lead the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency standards and specifications
Works as part of a team and independently in evaluating and applying Traffic Engineering principles, standards, and criteria
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS 6 years of experience in the related industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Preferred Qualifications
Background in traffic and transportation engineering
Experience to include 2 years of project management
Project management training and certification
Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate problems and solutions clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
Excellent written, graphical, and verbal communication skills
Ability to balance various project responsibilities, budgets, and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
Experience in traffic signal, ITS, lighting, signing and pavement marking design, Plan, Specifications, and Estimate Development
Experience in Traffic Signal coordination, Adaptive Signal, ATSPM
Experience in ITS design, traffic signal systems, systems engineering and ITS planning/architecture development
Knowledge of emerging technologies such as connected and automated vehicles and electrification
Experience and/or knowledge in traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation using Synchro/ SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM
Knowledge of safety analysis using HSM
Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills
Additional Information
Offered rate of compensation (Utah locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $140,000/yr.
