Advics is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Asst. Manager Near Lebanon, OH

Summary
The Continuous Improvement Assistant Manager leads and supports the identification, development, execution, and implementation of short and long-term projects to improve the efficiency of production processes at four ADVICS manufacturing locations. Project focus areas include operational improvements, waste reduction, and implementing problem-solving methods. This role will work closely with production, planning, maintenance, and shipping departments at all four locations to increase capacity, reduce lead times, improve delivery, and improve product quality.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Priorities will center on continuous improvement, cost-reduction initiatives, and developing our ADVICS three pillars culture.
2. Provide coaching opportunities, both direct and indirect, to teach the Toyota Production System across all sites.
3. Lead annual activities to ensure fundamental training standards are completed for all locations.
4. Training and development of department Specialist team members to learn TPS disciplines.
Essential Supervisory Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assist the Manufacturing Systems Department in managing workflow and deadlines, including assigning, distributing, scheduling, and reviewing completed work. Guide team members and assist with completing work assignments as needed. Assist in the development, implementation, and management of processes and systems.
2. Assist the management team in creating and maintaining the department's budget.
3. Assist in employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, retention, and termination activities.
Other Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assist in updating management and/or executives on Departmental group activities through meetings and/or reports, including tracking and reporting to senior management.
2. Other special projects, tasks, or duties the supervisor and/or management assign.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

- The work is performed in both office and manufacturing settings. The work is sedentary at times but will require walking, standing, stooping, bending, and/or climbing.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. An open office environment exists. Noise levels within the production areas vary and may require use of earplugs. Safety glasses and safety shoes are also required.
- This position requires extensive communication with others internally to the company and with external customers and suppliers, verbal and written.
- Travel to all sites (including Mexico) will be required.
- Required to work additional hours to meet deadlines, as necessary.

- Basic equipment needed such as a Computer, Phone, Business Cards, and Security Badge.
Qualifications Requirements
Education and Experience:
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum Five years of work experience in related fields. Previous Continuous Improvement in Manufacturing Industry preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree, degree obtained in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
Special Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines effectively and professionally
- Ability to create reports and presentations for use at executive meetings
- Skill in effectively participating in teams made up of peers, managers, and executives
- Skill in communicating with others in different departments and with people outside the organization, verbally and in writing
- Ability to use MS Office products, including proficient use of MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Ability to use email, internet, voicemail, and other miscellaneous electronic devices and software products.
- Toyota Production System background preferred.
- Prior continuous improvement leadership experience required.
