Advics is Hiring an Assistant Manager of Manufacturing Near Lebanon, OH

The Company:

ADVICS manufactures caliper disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control units and Electronic Parking Brakes for most of the world’s major auto makers. We have been located in Lebanon, Ohio (just North of Kings Island) for over 30 years and proudly employ 1000 amazing team members.

The Role:

The Assistant Manager of Manufacturing will have responsibilities in one of our three plants and will report to the Manufacturing Manager.

This individual in this position will directly assist in the overall management of the factory. They will supervise all aspects of the production process in the manufacturing of ABS hydraulic units, with a view toward increasing productivity, and decreasing costs, using an employee involvement and continuous improvement approach. This position is expected to grow into a Manager role. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish or adjusts work procedures as necessary to meet production schedules. Plan and coordinate new product launch activities.
  • Coordinate the appropriate support to effectively meet production schedules. Coordinate aftermarket and special production requirements. Interpret forecasts and schedules and coordinate appropriate support and staffing levels.
  • Report abnormal production issues. Lead investigations and countermeasures.
  • Conduct daily staff meetings at scheduled times, and other meetings as required.
  • Interview and evaluate potential new employee candidates. Lead selection process for team member promotions.
  • Maintain production records and track manufacturing performance to budget and target.
  • Lead and implement projects, and lead changes or modifications in working conditions to improve production methods, equipment, performance, and quality.
  • Create data collection systems to facilitate improvement activity. Initiate special reporting systems for staff communication.
  • Lead and participate in safety, quality, and productivity continuous improvement teams.
  • Write and coordinate updates to the operator standards.
  • Coordinate the completion of employee performance appraisals, and discuss the appraisal with employees at scheduled times.
  • Review and authorize employee time records. Schedule team members to meet overtime production requirements. Develop overtime schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of cost data and lead improvements and countermeasures.
  • Manage variable cost accounts via purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Top ranking official on-site for off-shifts. Key contact for decision making – safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Interpret company policies, enforce safety regulations, and counsel employees as required. Lead team member injury investigations and coordinate countermeasures. Key resource for changes in company policies.
  • Ensure that training of employees is on going, and up-to-date.
  • Facilitate and encourage QC circle group activity. Key resource for QC circle group development. Review and authorize employee suggestions, and encourage employee participation in the suggestion process.
  • Consider morale, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve team goals.
  • Coordinate performance corrective actions as required.
  • Take over manager responsibilities when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing or related field
  • Strong Knowledge of TPS principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for Data analysis and reporting.
