We're looking for someone to join our team as a Manager, Community Benefit Compliance who:

Organizes and prioritizes system-wide community health needs assessment process and reporting for all Adventist Health markets, including community health plans implementation strategies and quarterly/annual community benefit reporting. Ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines and submission of system community benefit yearly reporting. Coordinates community benefit communications, web, technology and data tools to provide technical support for individual market sites. Develops processes to increase technical and operational performance for community benefit alignment and program implementation. Reports, tracks, and is in compliance with the community benefit process for each market. Develops and administers compliance and reporting processes to effectively monitor community benefit programs. Provides guidance to each market lead on state compliance and reporting timelines to ensure compliance with tax-exempt status. Understands and tracks community benefit reporting. Creates an engaging workplace and encourages others to contribute creative and innovative approaches to achieve continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on community benefit compliance and timeliness for all hospitals, including Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) reports, California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) documents, annual updates and other community benefit-related requests as they arise. Maintains up-to-date awareness and serve as point-of-contact for all inquiries from Department of Healthcare Access & Information (HCAI), the attorney general (AG) and any other regulatory agency.
  • Tracks quarterly community benefit inventory for social accountability (CBISA) expenses and coordinates process to deliver quarterly community benefit expense reports to well-being directors.
  • Facilitates any necessary changes prior to year-end expense reporting (annual updates to state and tax reporting with system tax team). Supports ad-hoc presentations, major projects, reports, or other duties as assigned.
  • Supports project logistics for all major projects, via assigned activities from team members such as scheduling support for cohort calls/meetings, taking meeting minutes for multi-stakeholder meetings (i.e. well-being Director calls), summarizing action items and sending out succinct communications for next steps and timelines as they relate to community benefit deliverables.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, public health or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Five years' related experience: Preferred
  • One year leadership experience: Preferred

Required Skills:

  • Understands and trained in community benefit inventory for social accountability (CBISA) software. Experience in community benefit tracking and process. Understands the federal and state regulations for community benefit.

The estimated base pay for this position is $108,913 to $163,369. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
