The role you’ll contribute:

The Director of Strategy and Planning for the PHSO is responsible for developing and leading comprehensive methods to direct the execution of multiple and interrelated top initiatives and programs required for the achievement of AdventHealth’s strategic vision. This critical role is accountable for system-wide PHSO strategy oversight, prioritized escalation, timeline visibility and knowledge transfer. Initiatives and programs may include, but are not limited to, adoption and transformation to value-based care, the growth of risk-based lives, the development of clinical and financial models, contract performance, technical tool implementations and mission integration and fulfillment. The director must collaborate with executives and leaders across all corporate functions and operational divisions to facilitate, coordinate and implement the portfolio of strategic initiatives that have been prioritized by the Population Risk Division and PHSO executives. The Director is also accountable for planning major population health events including but not limited to Board meetings, Executive Leadership collaboration and Design sessions. This individual must have the mental agility to be both a strategic thinker and a tactical leader, capable of understanding and communicating alignment of initiatives to the Vision as well as project objectives, value propositions and resource requirements.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Responsible for strategic oversight of the PHSO’s Managed Population Risk aspirational initiatives and programs on behalf of the Chief Population Health Office (CPHO) working closely with PHSO executives, the corporate strategy team and/or strategic partners, program teams and operational leaders in the Population Risk Division.
  • Drive PHSO strategic initiatives and goals on behalf of the CPHO for the Managed Population Risk aspiration’s strategic framework and deliverables. Ensures PHSO initiative goals and objectives are communicated and socialized across the system within timeframes established by strategy and management committees.
  • Manage strategy topics for the CPHO executive agenda by collecting, prioritizing and completing follow-up activities related to agenda items by coordinating and communicating with executives and other leaders to ensure that strategic topics are brought for review in alignment with strategy timelines.
  • Serve as the aspirational partner for the executives reporting to the CPHO in the execution of the strategic agenda, senior executive meetings, and leadership for strategic initiatives. Represent the CPHO in select meetings and collect information from meetings, briefing the CPHO, as needed.
  • Aligns with CPHO in the development and communication of critical projects and touchpoints (internal and external), progress, milestones, accountability, and reporting to PHSO executives, senior executive meetings and committees.
  • On behalf of the CPHO. manage correspondence dealing with issues and subject matter in ways that often requires considerable sensitivity, discretion and judgment in replying to inquiries. Serve as a conduit of communications for the CPHO as applicable, to senior leaders and departments and, in conjunction with the Strategy and/or PHSO Communications team, to the organization at-large.
  • Accountable for researching healthcare and population health market and industry trends and best practices in value-based care and best practices. Remain abreast of national trends in value-based arrangements as the organization moves towards a total cost of care model and a more consumer-focused clinical company. Researches role model organizational practices and processes across the healthcare industry that may be applicable to value-based care.
  • Develops strategic communications on behalf of the CPHO, gathering, writing and editing PHSO strategic content for touchpoints (internal and external), progress/milestone accountability and reporting to Boards, committees, senior executive meetings, community, team members or others.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, public relations, journalism or communications.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in writing.
  • Experience working with diverse teams, managing major events and projects
  • Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills including writing, presentation and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization while appropriately and discreetly handling confidential information.
  • Superior writing and editing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executives, employees, physicians and consumers.
