The role you’ll contribute:

The Front Office Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the front desk and support staff. Responsible for overseeing, greeting, instructing, directing and education of the front support staff. Provides appropriate care to patients under the direction of the Office manager and/or Physician, within the scope of the Medical Practice Act. Assists in Also assists in patient education. Assists physician during treatment and examination of patient and administers procedures and treatments as ordered by the physician.

  • Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff
  • Creates monthly schedule for providers
  • Answers non-clinical questions for patients and family members and routes all other calls correctly and in a timely manner
  • Assures that all new patient demographics are entered, verified and updates existing patient demographics
  • Creates monthly schedule for all front office staff ensuring full coverage. This must be done the third week of each month and given to the OFMG then posted
  • Clears faxes on a daily bases
  • Ensues that all daily charges are entered in the absence of the data/charge entry staff or OFMG
  • Assures that appointments are scheduled in the appropriate time slots following scheduling procedures
  • Communicates and fully discloses issues and concerns with OFMG
  • Flexible and willing to make changes, shows positive approach to problem solving
  • Responsible for Patient Assistance Program
  • Assures that all authorizations for Medicaid and Medipass have been obtained
  • Coordinate the flow of the front desk to include filling in when needed to maintain proper patient flow
  • Completes special projects or performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager in a timely manner
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed
:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Two years of direct Patient Access experience
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in physician practice
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to manage diverse personalities
  • Ability to adapt in ever changing healthcare environment
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Advanced understanding of insurance knowledge and benefits
  • Advanced understanding of hospital electronic medical report (EMR) system
