Location: AdventHealth Hendersonville

The role you’ll contribute: Oversight and performance of preanalytical, analytical, and post analytical process of clinical laboratory testing in department of responsibility. Accountable for quality control, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities and outcomes. Utilize critical thinking skills to ensure the quality of patient test results.

The value you’ll bring to the team

• Provides technical oversight for department of responsibility to include clinical, technical, and operational duties.
• Responsible for test performance in applicable laboratory departments as determined by training, competency, and supervisory discretion / departmental needs, to include technical procedures and preanalytical processes (phlebotomy, registration, ordering, and/ or specimen receipt).
• Reports test results using appropriate documentation methods; ensures timely communication of critical and other significant laboratory results to the appropriate patient care unit or patient care provider.
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of all departmental quality control and designated quality assurance activities, including but not limited to establishment of QC ranges, linearities, correlations, and start up protocols.
• Ensures maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting of departmental instrumentation and test systems are performed appropriately and timely.
• Provides training and competency assessment for all applicable staff in the department of responsibility.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• (B.S.) degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field required.
• 4 years clinical laboratory experience in area of primary responsibility; 1 year clinical laboratory experience in all areas required.
• Current (MT or CLS) licensure with approved national registry organization (ASCP or equivalent) required
