Join our team as a Diesel Service Technician specializing in luxury coaches and buses! A diesel service technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel engines and vehicles. In this role you will diagnose mechanical & electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, conduct repairs, and ensure that diesel-powered vehicle operates efficiently and safely. If you're passionate and skilled with maintaining diesel vehicles to the highest standards and providing exceptional service, this role is for you.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on buses/coaches
- Diagnose and repair one or more areas, such as electrical, HVAC, suspension, mechanical, pneumatic and/or brake systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and component issues and perform repairs accordingly
- Conduct safety inspections on equipment and prepare safety documentation as needed
- Maintain proficiency with equipment and technologies that enhance productivity
- Ensure work area is always clean, safe, and organized
- Interact with operations and shop management
- Comply with the quality and safety standards of the organization
- Complete documentation thoroughly and timely
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to look up parts efficiently and independently
- Be proficient in electronic data and laptop use
- Pass required aptitude test
- Assist customers over the phone with technical issues and /or questions
- High school diploma, or GED required
- At least three (3) years' experience as a mechanic in an automotive, school bus, trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Provide own set of hand tools for regular maintenance
- Proactively acquire and expand knowledge of the latest technology and systems in the industry
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) would be preferred but not required
- Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and more than 75 lbs. occasionally
- Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- No travel required
