Advanced Systems Design is Hiring a Project Manager, Sr. Manager - 2139 Near Tallahassee, FL

 Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Project Manager, Sr. Manager for our client located in Tallahassee, FL.

This position is onsite in Tallahassee, FL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

  • As directed by the Department, follow the Department’s Information System Development Methodology and Project Management best practices as detailed by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), available at https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guidestandards/foundational/pmbok, and guidance provided by the Department’s Project Management Office.
  • Provide a Project Manager within three business days of issuance of the purchase order (PO) to manage the development and implementation of the new system. Maintain the Project Manager throughout the PO term. In the event of a vacancy, notify the Department within 24 hours of the date of the vacancy and fill the vacancy within 10 business days of the date of the vacancy.
  • As directed by the Department, collaborate with the contractor identified by the Department to facilitate Project Team meetings with the Department’s technical and program staff.
  • As directed by the Department, collaborate with the contractor identified by the Department to perform associated project management meeting tasks.
  • As directed by the Department, track the tasks, milestones, and deliverables of the project.
  • As directed by the Department, act as a liaison between the Project Team participants (which includes the Department’s Division of Children’s Medical Services, Bureau of Child Protection and Special Technologies, the Department’s Office of Information Technology, regional and local users of the new system, users within the Department of Children and Families, other external stakeholders) and the contractor as identified by the Department.
  • As directed by the Department, determine how personnel and other resources will be scheduled and allocated throughout the project.
  • Collaborate with the application development services contractor as identified by the Department to create or edit the detailed project plans (including work breakdown structures) as directed by the Department. Submit the created or modified detailed project plans within 10 calendar days of the request to the Department Contract Manager. Maintain the detailed project plans throughout the PO term.
  • Collaborate with the application development services contractor as identified by the Department to manage performance measurement baselines as directed by the Department. Submit the performance measurement baselines within 10 calendar days of the request to the Department Contract Manager. Maintain the performance measurement baselines throughout the PO term.
  • Collaborate with the application development services contractor as identified by the Department to create or edit track project schedules as directed by the Department. Submit the created or modified track project schedules within 10 calendar days of the request to the Department Contract Manager. Maintain the track project schedules throughout the PO term.
  • As directed by the Department, provide research and analytical services related to the implementation of the new system.
  • As directed by the Department, facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with the Project Team according to the project schedule and determine the participants in UAT from the Project Team participants.
  • Weekly, monitor the progress of work according to the timeline provided by the Department for the implementation of the new system.
  • As directed by the Department, develop a detailed status report on the progress of the new system implementation. Submit the report to the Contract Manager and the Department’s Project Team as directed by the Department.
  • As directed by the Department, produce and submit status reports on variances, commodities, and opportunities for improved system functionality.
  • As directed by the Department, draft or modify ad hoc internal and external status reports and detailed status reports related to the implementation of the new system. Submit the ad hoc internal and external status reports and detailed status reports to the Department Contract Manager as directed by the Department.
  • As directed by the Department, provide analytical services on the Department's IT processes that are relevant to the CPTIS and ISSATP modernization project and identify operational efficiencies.
  • As directed by the Department, provide analytical research to satisfy queries requested by the Legislature and Department management.
  • As directed by the Department, adhere to all Department IT processes.
  • As directed by the Department, coordinate with other Department IT staff to ensure compliance with the Department’s standards.
  • Communicate and respond weekly (both verbally and in written formats) with the Project Team, management, program, and technical staff regarding the status of project activities to ensure a common understanding among stakeholders about the goals, performance, risks, and accomplishments of the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years of project management experience, including developing project plans, risk tracking, mitigation, and issue tracking.
  • Five years of experience communicating project updates both orally and in written format with technical staff, executive management, and user staff.
  • Five years of experience with facilitating current state or application analysis sessions and documenting applications through use case process documents and workflow diagrams.
  • Five years of experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodologies and documentation.
  • Five years of experience with meeting facilitation and documentation.
  • Five years of experience with the use of Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel.
  • Five years of experience with creating and presenting internal and external status reports and detailed status reports suitable for presentation to the management team.
  • Five years of experience tracking work tasks and maintaining project schedules (including work breakdown structures).
  • Five years of experience with delivering projects as per an approved project schedule, and within an approved budget.
  • Seven years leading data or system modernization projects in a state government domain or agency.
  • One year of experience working with Health Information Technology systems.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
