SUMMARY - The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and maintaining shipping and receiving records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties as assigned…
1. Facilitates incoming and outgoing shipments.
2. Maintains records of outgoing and incoming shipments.
3. Compiles work orders on all incoming orders and creates packing slips and certifications of compliance. Verifies the work order is correct and contacts customer if needed.
4. Reviews all documentation to verify process is correct before issuing work instructions for work orders. Works with supervisor and manager if questions arise.
5. Reviews all documentation before issuing certifications after process is complete. Quantities, process, certs should all match purchase order issued by the customer.

Prior experience operating forklifts and loading trucks is preferred. Ability to communicate with shop and field personnel to complete shipping needs
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Has the minimal skills necessary to operate a computer. Can log on to a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications and enter information into a database. QuickBooks experience is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
