Role : Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Simply Gum is a New York-based confections brand. We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator capable of filling a shipping / production role located at our production center in Brooklyn, NY.

As a Shipping / Receiving coordinator, you will oversee the shipping and receiving operations within our warehouse facility.

You will contribute to the efficient flow of goods by fulfilling orders, printing labels, and assisting with raw material receiving.

The role requires attention to detail, proficiency in data entry, and a commitment to maintaining a smooth supply chain.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise Shipping and Receiving Operations :
• Oversee the daily activities of the shipping and receiving teams.
• Coordinate and prioritize the shipment and receipt of raw materials.
• Ensure all orders, including small DTC (Direct to Consumer), Sample Orders, and larger Distributor orders, are processed accurately and on time.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure orders are correct before shipment.
• Freight Operations :
• Coordinate and plan efficient freight pickup schedules, optimizing routes and carriers to minimize costs while ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
• File and manage claims for any damages or losses during shipping, ensuring proper documentation and communication with relevant parties, including carriers and insurance providers.
• Rectify mis-ships and shipping errors : Proactively identify and rectify mis-ships or any other errors in the shipping process, collaborating with the shipping team to resolve issues, prevent reoccurrence, and maintain a high level of accuracy in order fulfillment.
• Inventory Management :
• Validate incoming purchase orders (POs) and ensure proper receipt in the online inventory management system.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and coordinate physical inventory audits.
• Efficiency and Cost Reduction :
• Consistently look for ways to increase efficiency in shipping and receiving processes.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-cutting measures.

Qualifications :

• Experience with shipping via Stamps.com / UPS / FedEx
• Proven experience in a shipping and receiving role
• Proficiency in using computer applications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Bilingual (Preferred)
