THE ROLE

As a member of AMM’s Compliance and Ethics team, the Director – Compliance and Ethics Operations is a catalyst for our mission. They are responsible for the daily operation of the Company’s Compliance and Ethics Program (the Program). The Program must fulfill the expectations of key stakeholders, including patients and their families and government agencies, and AMM is committed to exceeding those expectations. The Program is led by AMM’s CCEO, who reports to AMM’s Chief Executive Officer and the AMM Board, and who oversees and manages the AMM Compliance Committee, consistent with industry best practices.

The Director – Compliance and Ethics Operations is expected to exemplify the Company’s culture and core values. This is a leadership role that requires sound and risk-aware judgment, productive collaboration across the Company, and demonstrated success in leading a team of in-house compliance and ethics professionals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following description provides an overview of primary responsibilities for this director position; it should not be interpreted as all-encompassing.

General Responsibilities

- Ensures that the CCEO is timely informed of all significant compliance and ethics developments, including those involving internal and external allegations and reports of compliance and ethics concerns.

- Works closely with the CCEO to facilitate Program initiatives, including managing multiple ongoing projects.

- Undertakes to remain informed of relevant developments and trends in healthcare compliance and ethics by, among other things, reviewing relevant enforcement notices, attending seminars, reviewing professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations, and leverages that insight and knowledge to enhance the Program.

Compliance and Ethics-Specific Responsibilities

- Leads the day-to-day operations of the Program in light of applicable state and federal agency guidance to ensure that the Company fulfills stakeholder expectations.

- Under the CCEO’s direction, performs an annual assessment of compliance and ethics risks and develops and implements an Annual Program Work Plan, and provides the CCEO with periodic updates as items are executed.

- Ensures that the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures are accessible to all AMM personnel and, in collaboration with the appropriate business unit or corporate function leader, timely updated to reflect changes in law or policy.

- Develops and administers training and education to enable AMM personnel to perform their job duties while fulfilling stakeholder compliance and ethics expectations.

- Leads and oversees the Disclosure Program which includes a protocol for assessing and investigating internal and external reports of compliance and ethics concerns, including possible violations of law or corporate policy.

- Ensures the Company periodically conducts sanctions screenings to identify individuals excluded from working in government-sponsored healthcare programs, and collaborates with the CCEO and, if and as appropriate, with the assistance of counsel, to take appropriate action.

- Under the CCEO’s direction, produces and distributes compliance and ethics communications and leads engagement initiatives.

- Oversees the process for responding to health plan audit requests and ensures the CCEO is apprised of all audit activities.

- Develops and maintains compliance and ethics metrics to report progress to the CCEO and the AMM Compliance Committee.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Five to ten years of relevant professional experience in healthcare with at least three years of experience in a leadership role. Experience in medical practice management and/or health insurance administration.

- An undergraduate degree.

- Recommended top-tier healthcare Compliance Certification, such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) Certificate from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) along with a fundamental understanding of regulatory framework and coding practices.

- Fundamental understanding of managed government healthcare programs (i.e., Medicare and Medicaid).

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with key internal and external stakeholders.
