Back Office Medical Assistant (McKinney)

We are a busy, fast paced PODIATRY practice in McKinney located in a new, state of the art medical office building in Stonebridge Ranch. We also have a satellite office in Prosper, Texas and this position requires travel between both locations. This position is a very important part of the practice and involves dealing with the public, therefore, the position requires excellent personal skills as well as communication skills. The position requires excellent telephone, verbal and computer skills. The applicant must be an excellent listener and a quick learner.
The position available is for a BACK OFFICE SPECIALIST. This is a fast paced position that requires the applicant to be a team player, proactive thinker and a self-starter.
Duties include:
Rooming patients, taking vitals, stocking and cleaning rooms, setup for procedures, educating patients on benefits for certain procedures, answering phones, making and confirming appointments, data entry into the Electronic Medical Record, dispensing OTC products, scheduling MRI and CT scans, answering patient questions, scanning and faxing and digital filing. We are seeking someone for the long term that is looking for a position with opportunity for advancement. Leaderships skills are helpful.
REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
-Ability to follow instructions
-Applicant must be a self-starter, a quick learner and a team player that can work well with multiple personalities
-Mature and dependable
-Ability to multi-task
-A minimum of ONE YEAR of back office medical office experience is required.
-Must be able to type at least 30 words a minute
-Knowledge of Microsoft word.
