Advanced Correctional Healthcare is Hiring a Mental Health Clinician Near Columbia, SC

Position: Mental Health Clinician

Facility: Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center

Location: Columbia, SC

Hours: Full-Time. 40 hours/week

SUMMARY:
Our associates deliver a higher standard of medical care, mental health care and business services for an underserved
population. We maintain professionalism, integrity and commitment as we solve problems, make lives easier and place
patient needs first.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Under supervision provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by
prescreening through booking process or nursing services.
  • Under supervision provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
  • Assist custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
  • Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral
health concerns.
  • Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
  • Support and supplement the activities of county behavioral health services in the stabilization of at-risk
detainees.
  • Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning via sharing of
pertinent patient information.
  • Complete documentation as well as maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement
(CQI) under supervision.
  • Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing behavioral health support and provide training to solve
problems and make lives easier.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
TRAINING EXPECTATIONS:
Associates in this role are expected, as a condition of employment, to complete all training assigned within a reasonable
time, generally within less than 15 days. This role includes the following training requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or CPR certification

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This position is scheduled based on operational need and may include rotational shifts, standby, as assigned, and on-call
work. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in a Behavioral/Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, etc.) required.
  • Current licensure with clinical specialty from the appropriate state licensing board preferred.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
This position requires the individual to obtain and maintain security clearance at the facility(s) or location(s) assigned.
