Advanced Care Partners, one of Inc. 5000's fastest-growing companies, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled EMT. The EMT is responsible for attending to the needs of individuals attending the Center and ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation. Working under the supervision of the registered nurse, the escort provides direct care to PPEC individuals, including activities of daily living, while adhering to company policies and maintaining a supportive and positive environment.
Responsibilities:
Care Provision:
Provide direct care in a medical model child care setting.
Attend to the basic needs of individuals, including dressing, feeding, bathing, diapering, and overseeing developmentally appropriate play.
Behavior Management:
Provide positive reinforcement to individuals.
Recommend measures to control behavior in accordance with the center's policies.
Hygiene and Nutrition:
Bathe individuals and attend to basic hygiene needs.
Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks.
Regulate rest or nap periods.
Child Development:
Hold, rock, and comfort individuals as needed.
Read to individuals and engage in teaching activities such as painting, drawing, crafts, and songs.
Transportation Responsibilities:
Ensure proper positioning and secure transportation of each child.
Demonstrate basic medical procedures that may be required during transportation routes.
Secure car seats and wheelchairs during transportation.
Communication and Reporting:
Collect and deliver pertinent information to and from caregivers and nursing staff.
Communicate with families before picking up or bringing home a child.
Report to the Administrator and Director of Nursing regarding any extenuating circumstances.
Professionalism and Compliance:
Maintain professional appearance and dialogue.
Maintain confidentiality of center activities and family homes.
Complete yearly in-services and competency testing as required.
Qualifications:
State licensed or National Registry Certified EMT or Paramedic.
Have one-year experience in the care of infants and toddlers.
Hold a current certification in CPR.
First Aid certification.
Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray documentation.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
Reliable transportation to and from the center.
Ability to stand, lift, and assist in lifting individuals in an emergency.
Good flexibility for bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
Strong visual and hearing acuity.
Manual dexterity for grasping and manipulating small objects.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergency situations.
