Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Accountant assists with the planning, coordination and administration of general accounting activities of the hospital including month-end close, maintenance of financial records/files, Medicare reporting and ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. What you will do in this role:

Under the general direction of the Controller and Assistant Controller, the Accountant III is a position that can work independently without supervision. This position is responsible for managing a variety of accounting functions however will have no supervisory duties. The position is responsible for helping maintain the general ledger by participating in month end close and preparing account reconciliations as needed. The Accountant III will be a resource for accountants in training. The position will assist in the preparation of the Cost report and Tax Work papers and other annual reporting. The position plays a role in the budget process. Position will assist with month end reports as required and quarterly SOX reports as needed. Position can include duties such as Accounts Payable Workflow, managing physician payments, working with annual inventory and other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Required knowledge of accounting systems. Proficiency with PC based spreadsheet and word processing programs. Microsoft office preferred.
• Five (5) plus years’ experience in accounting and financial analytics required.
• Ability to communicate orally, maintain effective and amiable relationship with customers and co-workers
