Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and crafting delicious beverages for our guests. If you have a passion for mixology, exceptional customer service skills, upselling skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and take their drink orders promptly
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Ensure that all beverages are prepared according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized, well-stocked bar area
- Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible serving practices
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any concerns or questions they may have
- Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system
- bus & wipe tables, run food and drinks, load dishes into dishwasher, and put away dishes as needed.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
- Assist with opening and closing duties (including cleaning tasks of entire tasting room) as needed
- Conduct bar inventory and stock wine and retail areas
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Solid bartending skills including mixing techniques, garnishing, and presentation
- Exceptional customer service and sales skills to provide a positive experience for guests while also maximizing revenue for the company.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and with grace in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using a Restaurant or Retail POS system
- Basic math skills for calculating bills, handling cash, and making change accurately
- Familiarity with the food industry and understanding of food pairing with different beverages.
- Wine knowledge is preferred, but will train the right candidate.

About the Pay:
This position starts at $15.25 per hour, plus tips. As we are a team environment, the entire staff on duty for a shift pools and equally shares in tips. There is also an excellent incentive program tied to customer reviews and club sign-ups, which results in free wine and gift cards! Promotion opportunities to become a Keyholder, as well as Tasting Room Lead and other Company positions exist.
About the Hours / Schedule
Due to the seasonality of our business, we have a wide variety of needs for hours, ranging from 16 to 40 hours per week, with opening as early as 10am and closing as late as 10:30pm. Many of our Tasting Room Associates work with us year-round, especially those who show a desire to learn and grow in the company to other positions in leadership and management down the road!
For the right candidate, we will be flexible with our schedule to work around your other jobs and scheduling requirements. You are required to have the availability to work at least one weekday shift (Mon-Fri) and one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday). Shift times are typically 6-8 hours.
As we are a tourist-driven business, Holiday Weekends are critical, and we ask that associates keep at least one weekend day open at these times (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, etc). We also have an "all hands on deck" special weekend for the Adirondack Wine and Food Festival (last weekend of June each year).
Work Location:
We prefer our Tasting Room Associates are willing to work at both of our locations; however, this position's primary location will be in Queensbury.
Physical demands: The ability to frequently lift, move and load cases of wine (approx. 35lbs), Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time, sitting or standing. Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery such as an iPad, cash register, calculator, copier, and printer.
Working conditions: The ability to work in a retail location with many customers and employees. At offsite events with fellow employees, large crowds of customers, and noise. Must be able to maintain reliable transportation to get to and from work sites and events.
