Addev Materials Converting LLC is Hiring a Machine Operator - 1st Shift Near Glenshaw, PA
Classification: Non-Exempt
Entry Wage Range: $16.50 to $18 per hour for entry level.
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Summary:
- This is a team effort - you'll be working under the guidance of a supervisor and manager...no one goes alone at our facility!
- You'll be working on various slitters and/or die cutters, and training starts on day 1! You'll learn to set up and run a variety of work orders and how to read and understand all the drawings that go along to help you understand our customer requirements!
- Data is important to us, so you'll need to be able to use various measuring devices to ensure product is set up correctly, and finished parts are compliant with customer specifications. Plus you'll have maintain logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies...don't worry, we'll give you a refresher on how to read those measuring devices if it's been a while!
- Very important that everyone follows safety guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to read work instructions and drawings in English and actively communicate with coworkers in English.
- As stated above, this is a team environment, we need people who are ready, willing, and able to follow directions and work well in a team.
- We have found that individuals who have basic ability in science, mathematics, reading, and writing are going to do well in this role. Basic computer usage is required while on the job.
- This is a first shift role, so we need someone who can work Monday through Friday approximately 7:00am to 3:30pm - some flexibility within an 30 minute window is available on start and stop time...you can also ask about the possibility of working a four day, 10hr shift.
- Prolonged periods standing required. Some squatting or kneeling may be required depending on the machine set up.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds 75% of time. Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds 40% of the time. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds up to 25% of the time. Assistance provided for lifting 50 pounds.
- Must have manual dexterity to set up blades, feel material, and work measuring devices.
- Must have ability to differentiate between colors when working with certain products on the lever.
- Must be able to communicate in a factory setting that occasionally gets very loud.
- Accommodations can be made for certain workplace environmental factors that could be a trigger for some individuals such as noise-canceling headphones and earplugs; facemasks or respirators for materials with strong odors, or glasses that diffuse the light when not working on color sensitive jobs. We encourage any individual who requires accommodations to speak with their manager and HR regarding their unique needs.
