Description

Position Summary:

The Manager of IT Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing our Azure infrastructure and networking, as well as coordinating with multiple vendors and leading a team of dedicated professionals. This position is crucial to ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT environment, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of IT operations, ensuring system availability, reliability, and security.
  • Implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve technical issues.

Azure Infrastructure and Networking Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Oversee network architecture, monitoring, and troubleshooting to guarantee seamless connectivity, operability, and security.
  • Collaborate with other teams to implement best practices for cloud-based solutions.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with multiple vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and optimize costs.
  • Act as the main point of contact for issue resolution and escalation with vendors.

Strategic Planning:

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Technology Operations to align IT strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the IT roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of IT Security to implement related security and vulnerability controls and security objectives.

Audit Functions:

  • Oversee and navigate various audit functions, including but not limited to SOX, PCI, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR, SOC I, and II.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to address findings and implement corrective actions.

Change Management and Documentation:

  • Implement and enforce strong change management processes for IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure that changes are thoroughly documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in IT operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all investigations, projects, patient confidentiality, and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
  • Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Management/Supervision:

  • Responsible for selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations.

Competency, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation.
  • Experience with audit functions such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, SOC I, and II.
  • Strong change management and documentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problems solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid ability to learn new technologies and possess the technical aptitude required to understand flow of data through systems as well as system interaction.
  • Self-disciplined to work alone and with groups to follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes. 

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Five (5) years of work-related experience IT Service Desk or Network related experience
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, ITIL, CCNA, and Azure Networking Certificates are preferred. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
  • Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.
  • May be required to work at various locations. 
  • May be required to move or relocate computer equipment and ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess mental alertness to make quick decisions and interpret complex information.
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
  • Mental alertness to perform the essential functions of position. 
  • Ability to work after non-business hours as needed.
