Description

Position Summary

Audit managers take on an array of tasks within the audit department including quality review of staff work, project management, business development and solving complex audit issues. They work both independently and collaboratively with the audit staff and senior staff members. People developers, problem solvers and excellent communicators, we want you!

Requirements

Required Experience and Education

“FASB” or “Commercial” and/or “Not-for-Profit” experience is desired, as is experience in Yellow Book and Single Audits. A current and valid CPA license is required. Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs and respective state societies. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience, preferably with approximately 4 of those years as an auditor with a public accounting firm. Needs excellent project management skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills, dedication to teamwork and leadership and integrity within a professional environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop/maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the year to communicate value and inform them of the firm’s scope of services
  • Provide guidance/expertise and participation in the performance of audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues
  • Demonstrate excellence in executive presence, people development, leadership and professionalism
  • Collaborate to plan objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk
  • Establish the expectations of the value to be delivered
  • Successfully monitor the audit engagement team against the budget, and alter if necessary
  • Identify/communicate relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the audit client
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the audit client’s industry and marketplace
  • Develop people by effectively delegating to all levels of the audit team staff and by encouraging audit team members to make determinations and take responsibility for their contribution to the audit team
  • Conduct audit team performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to audit team performance feedback/training
  • Foster teamwork and lead by example
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with audit team members, and enhance service delivery
  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other audit engagement teams
  • Monitor the audit engagement team’s progress against the plan and alter it when needed
  • Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions
  • Achieve growth by understanding Adams Brown and its services lines and actively assessing/presenting way to apply knowledge and services
  • Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally

Working Environment

Our offices are open from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout tax season and our office close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season.
