Position Summary: Adams State University is seeking a Business Manager for the Department of Athletics. As a direct report to the Director of Athletics this is a full time 12 month at-will position. The fundamental responsibilities of the Business Manager position includes managing all aspects of fiscal responsibility and day to day operations for coaches and athletic department staff. Specific Responsibilities ● The Business Manager is required to attend and document the regularly scheduled monthly athletic department staff meetings ● The Business Manager is the main point of contact for the Athletic Department and is responsible for the main Athletics Accounts (phones, guests, emails, etc. ) ● The Business Manager will serve as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Athletics and assist in all of the day to day operations of the Athletic office (phones, copier, technology, office supplies, mail, public relations, account requests, meeting agendas and minutes, pass lists) ● The Business Manager will assist with all necessary hiring paperwork for all Athletic Department staff (PCRs, assistant coach appointments, Code of Conducts, HR paperwork etc.) ● The Business Manager will set up and reconcile gate receipts for all home events ● The Business Manager will be the main point of contact for our Ticket Vendor, Hometown Ticketing ● The Business Manager will schedule use of Athletic Buses and Recruiting Car and work closely with the Travel and Transportation personnel ● The Business Manager will manage the budget under their control with efficiency and prudence and will appropriately reallocate through the Workday platform ● The Business Manager will demonstrate loyalty to the State of Colorado and Adams State University by diligently following the lawful instructions of the State of Colorado while using professional judgment, reasonable care, and exercising only the authority granted. ● The Business Manager will assist all Athletic Department staff members with required paperwork for all fiscal transactions ● The Business Manager will reconcile and file all Travel Card/ Purchasing Card paperwork (travel requests, receipts, travel reports) ● The Business Manager will assist all coaches in tracking their budget expenditures, notifying Head Coaches and AD of balance concerns ● Attendance at home events is required and is responsible for ticketing and any pregame activities (tailgates, etc.) are in order ● The Business Manager will assist in organizing any events put on by the Athletic Department ● Assist with Grizzly Club materials and working directly with Individual and Corporate level sponsors ● This position serves in a uniquely public role and therefore shall set high standards in their professional conduct. They shall conduct themselves so as to avoid improper conduct relative to their role as a university representative. ● This position will develop and maintain a positive relationship with Adams State University Alumni and Grizzly Club Members, keeping in mind that they serve a position of vital importance to the success of our athletic programs. ● Other responsibilities as assigned by Athletic Director Qualifications ● Ability to perform the requirements of the position ● Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred ● Experience with Workday preferred. ● Previous work experience in Collegiate Athletics preferred ● Ability to work with a variety of personalities and excellent communication skills required. ● Knowledge of and commitment to strict adherence to NCAA, RMAC, university and department rules and regulations as well as a solid commitment to student achievement in academics. ● The successful candidate will be a person of high ethical standards and show initiative and integrity to make important independent decisions ● Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies in a global environment ● Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegiality with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires. ● An understanding of Adams State University’s vision and mission Salary $42,252 to $48,060 plus a competitive benefit package.
