Job Title: Litigation Associate

Practice Area: Commercial Defense and Insurance Defense

Location: Denver, Colorado 80228

Type: Full-time, Initially On-site

Experience: 1-3 or 4-7 years

Billable Hours: 1850 hours annually

Overview: Our client is looking for a Litigation Associate focused on insurance defense. You'll run cases

with partner support, emphasizing self-starting, down-to-earth demeanor, and expertise in law and motion, research,

discovery, and depositions. Grow with them as they offer an excellent professional development and room for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage cases with partner support, emphasizing self-direction and initiative.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to requests.
  • Conduct depositions and attend hearings.
  • Progress to handling mediations and other case aspects as you grow.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and paralegals in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar.
  • 1-3 years or 4-7 years of experience in litigation, preferably in commercial and/or insurance defense.
  • Strong litigation skills, including law and motion practice, legal research, and drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Experience with discovery, including drafting and responding to requests.
  • Ability to conduct depositions and attend hearings independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented
  • environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative in case management.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development within the firm.
  • Familiarity with Colorado court procedures and litigation practices is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 (depending on experience).

Bonuses: Discretionary
