Full salary range: $27.14 - $39.36 Hourly
Anticipated hiring range: $27.14 - $31.21 Hourly

Examples of Duties for Success

  • Administers criminal background checks and fingerprint processes upon request for all departments. Initiates background investigations and monitors compliance county-wide.
  • Reviews, analyzes and proposes clearances for background results based on county policies. Escalates complex results to the Talent Acquisition Lead for further review.
  • Collaborates with the talent acquisition team to provide support in compliance, selection processes, and other relevant background-related areas.
  • Manages day-to-day background vendor contracts and relationships, including invoicing, service delivery, and execution.
  • Trains in focused project management areas for background investigations/legal compliance and/or becomes a subject matter expert for the applicant tracking system.
  • Assists with processing HRIS data to ensure the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is up to date with position control, name changes, I-9 verification, document expiration, onboarding status, and reauthorization reports.
  • Supports new employees by assisting during new employee orientation sessions held every other Wednesday.
  • Provides service and support, guiding employees and candidates, and responding to inquiries as it relates to background processes.
  • Shares subject matter expertise through training, actively participating in job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Cultivates exceptional candidate experiences that align seamlessly with Adams County's values, culture, and mission.
  • Tracks and measures the effectiveness of recruitment, selection, and background investigation practices, and pursues continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes and interprets data from various sources to inform decision-making.
  • Offers technical assistance and consultation to internal customers regarding recruitment and selection methods.
  • Carries out associated administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and document maintenance within the related areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates initiative by taking on new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • May provide talent acquisition support to County departments as needed and act as a backup for other team members.
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition Lead during background and compliance audits.
  • Assists the public and other Adams County employees with inquiries related to a wide range of people & culture functions, directing them to the appropriate staff member.
  • May participate in job fairs or other hiring events as needed.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications for Success

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn talent acquisition best practices, principles, techniques, and strategies.
  • Adaptability to embrace new tasks and responsibilities, remaining flexible and agile.
  • Knowledge of current technology and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources functions, procedures, and policies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to effectively handle multiple, concurrent assignments and activities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using online applicant tracking systems, background check platforms, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to research and analyze data, develop project plans, assess ROI, and develop policies/procedures.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in web-based products and mobile applications (replace specific examples with desired software).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently or contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with colleagues.
  • Recognizes, supports, and demonstrates sensitivity to different cultures and perspectives in recruiting strategies and organizational culture.

More Qualifications for Success

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible human resources experience preferably in the areas of background investigation, talent acquisition, recruitment, selection, administrative, data entry , or customer service.
Education and Training:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent or verifiable participation and completion of classes, trainings, programs, seminars, etc. related to business, communications, marketing, recruitment and selection, organizational development, human resources, or another closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, human resources, organizational development, industrial psychology, or a closely related field is preferred.

License or Certificate:
  • HR industry certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is desirable.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Background Check:
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
