Maintenance Mechanic A performs tool work and plans mechanical updates on plant equipment, troubleshoots plant equipment, and keeps up with assigned work orders.

Responsibilities:

1. Record start and stop of jobs in Ultipro.
2. Stretch per guidelines prior to start up.
3. Troubleshoot machinery.
4. Plans mechanical layouts for updates on machinery and follows projects through to completion.
5. Recognizes and reports safety hazards on equipment and initiates corrective actions.
6. Designs and installs simple air and fluid system modifications and updates prints (where applicable).
7. Provides training for other maintenance personnel.
8. Follows lockout tag out procedures and safety rules in the plant.
9. Handles and labels hazardous and non-hazardous chemical containers properly.
10. Maintains good housekeeping in the work area.
11. Calibrates system and machine controllers (where applicable).
12. Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment.
13. Performs other tasks assigned by designated supervisor.

Basic Education, Skills, or Experience:

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Stretch per guidelines prior to set up.
3. Advanced technical training of two to four years of Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
4. Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
5. Knowledge of our plant operations.
6. Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of lower maintenance classifications.
7. Ability to obtain hi-lo license and operate hi-lo safely.
8. Knowledge of proper purchasing procedures.

Personal Protection Equipment:

1. Safety Glasses with side shields.
2. Goggles for specific tasks
3. Welding mask for specific tasks.
4. Covered, hard soled shoes with steel toes.
5. Gloves as required by specific tasks

Minimum Physical Requirements:

1. Lifting as needed up to 100 lbs.
2. Frequent bending, twisting, and couching.
3. Ability to work safely at heights exceeding 6 feet.
