ADAC Automotive Career Opportunities is Hiring a Molding Team Lead - 2nd Shift Near Muskegon, MI

Essential Responsibilities:

1.6S / Lean GEMBA activity involvement to help maintain and sustain a safe work environment.Production Team Leader must “Lead by example” walk the walk and talk the talk.

2.Mold Scheduling – Includes the following task; Manage production schedule to include assigning associates to machines, scheduling required Overtime as required, Manage breaks (with Break relief), Schedule Jobs and or labels in the PLS to include Hot parts (past due tickets, run in order of due dates), Print/review un-scanned label report and manage daily, sample management as needed, Production monitoring system management (including downtime) and Posting of scrap in PLS daily.

3.Report IT Issues via the IT Portal system as required.

4.Problem solving related to quality and or other departmental issues to find true root cause and/or resolution with a team based approach.

5.New job or new associate training (Buddy system).Evaluate if training is effective (Monitor job certifications for all associates as jobs run production).

6.Monitor, manage and look for ways to improve all non-standard activity.

7.FPA process per OP-09-03 for all fresh start jobs.

8.Monitor time sheets of those using the diverted labor codes and Material Handler associates.Approver of vacation for associates.

9.Promote continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor to increase efficiency.

10.Provide coverage, plan for coverage for Team Leaders, Material handlers and/ or Mold management during vacations or as needed for production team.

11.Input labor factors into the molding dashboard.Manage accordingly, when changes are required to ensure we are running to standard.

12.Conduct 5 LPA’s (Layered Process Audit) daily.

13.Coach, Teach and Mentor associates as opportunities are presented.

14.ICN (Internal change notice paperwork) for process changes.

15.Report to huddle meetings for shift communication 2X daily (beginning and end of shift).

16.Conduct cell meetings 1X monthly and stand up GEMBA meetings 1X weekly.

17.Conduct employee performance reviews per schedule.

18.Defect training for new members as required.New employees must take mold defect training within first 2 weeks on the job.

19.OITM management – Identify, notify when changes may be required.

20.Understanding quality standards for the department.Able to make decisions using the available tools (FPR/AAR/FPA/Hourly Bins/Last shots and boundary samples).Understanding on how to establish clean point once we identify quality issues.When did it start/ stop using the hourly bins.

21.Problem solving related to quality and or other departmental issues to find true root cause and/or resolution with a team based approach.

22.Rework and sort activity (Break Relief team).Establish hourly rates for sorts.Validate rework method is effective.

23.NCM product if required.If defective material is identified, quarantine product to last known good part.

24.Create and print charts weekly as needed for our GEMBA board.KPI data for diverted labor, performance, productivity, etc. Work to understand KPI trends and institute changes to improve KPI’s.

25.Print, Post and communicate all new SIRN’s to molding associates.Verify team is following SIRN, ICN and OITM instructions.

26.Operator and trainer must verify the operator has signed off on the latest revision level of the OITM.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

1.Complete general administrative tasks such as time tracking and using internal system for task management.

2.Travel to/from plant to plant as needed for sort/rework projects.

Education & Experience:

1.Minimum of a 3-5 years manufacturing experience

2.Completed leadership training or hands on experience in leading a team

3.High School Diploma

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  2. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must demonstrate effective communication and time management skills when interfacing with various functional groups/departments.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  5. Good organizational skills – creating and keeping deadlines.
  6. Good decision making using a systematic approach.
