ADAC Automotive Career Opportunities is Hiring a Hardware and Test Engineering Manager Near Grand Rapids, MI

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Plans, directs, and controls the activities for design, development, test, and release of products.
  2. Responsible for hiring, resource allocation, and working out future staffing strategies.
  3. Ensures projects meet cost and schedule objectives.
  4. Ensures the team is adequately staffed and meets expectations.
  5. Ensures applicable aspects and outputs of ASPICE are completed by the team.
  6. Drives for continuous improvement of the hardware and development test processes.
  7. Develops personnel, including establishment of yearly performance goals, mentoring, coaching, and presenting performance reviews on a timely basis.
  8. Identifies developmental training needs and establishes work plans with employees.
  9. Quotes new business opportunities and supports Sales team in technical discussions with customers.
  10. Supports and signs off on design reviews.
  11. Escalates issues to internal and customer management.
  12. Supports Product Technical Lead in tracking, analyzing, and reporting project metrics.
  13. Works with Innovation team leadership to support staffing needs and to understand new technologies which will need to be supported by the team for future production programs.
  14. Works with Systems/Software Manager, Product Engineering Managers, and Design Manager to drive collaboration across the teams.

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor of Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or relevant experience
  2. 10 years engineering experience in product development
  3. 5 years direct supervision experience desired
  4. Automotive experience desired
  5. Strong planning, monitoring, and communication skills
  6. Ability to work with Global Teams

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

  1. ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Jama requirements management tool or equivalent
  • MS Office
  • Sprint & scrum development methods
  • V-model development
  • Leadership qualities
