The Federal Civilian business unit supports a wide range of customers that span the federal, commercial, and nonprofit space. Our customers include the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, PAN Foundation, Library of Congress, Social Security Administration, Health and Human Services, and the USDA Forest Service. We partner with these agencies to build new capabilities, deliver products, establish data as a strategic asset for informed decision-making, modernize legacy systems, and build the digital service infrastructure necessary to scale their mission impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with the expectation that you will further develop your leadership, guidance and mentoring skills. With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. A Senior Data Scientist impacts the long-term goals of the program, while contributing to the development of the program's data science strategy. You may serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders and utilize strong influential skills to drive improvements in data science processes and practices. Primary expectations of a Senior Data Scientist include:

• A strong influence on business or customer experience improvements based on research

• Serves as a mentor to junior Analysts, Engineers, and Scientists on the program

• May lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects

• Presents statistical and mathematical concepts to non-experts

• Fully understands and ensures implementation of best practices across program(s)

• Builds and improves predictive models using data from multiple sources

• Automates feedback loops for algorithms/models, creates repeatable processes, and scalable data products

• Reviews, scales, and enhances operationalized statistical models and algorithms

• Able to apply recommendation systems, ML, NLP, statistics, and deep learning within the program

• Participates in technical interviews with new candidates, evaluates homework assignments

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience

• Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education

• 6 years of experience in an analytics role

• Expertise with data engineering tools, analytics, and statistics; completion of several predictive analytical projects and/or ML models

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior government contracting experience

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
