Actually Design Build is Hiring a Construction Manager Near San Francisco, CA

Company Services Offered

Actually Design Build (ADB) is based in San Francisco and offers complete design-build services. We are contracted as the prime contractor (general contractor) as well as subcontracted for structural build outs (framing, concrete and steel) and finish carpentry. Most of our portfolio is residential remodels, but we also work in light commercial projects including storefront businesses and small office spaces.

Job Description

ADB is seeking a full-time senior level construction manager to lead and oversee our construction services and teams dispersed among several job sites of various sizes and scope.

Primary job site responsibilities include:

· Building of contract documents (permitted drawings) in the field

· Identify sequencing of subcontractors and labor needs at each job site

· Direct, supervise and mentor all field crew

· Work closely with our design team and/or outside design team depending on project

· Job sites activities are safe and clean. This includes enforcement of safety measures that are in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

· Proactively identify conflicts on plans and in field, come up with solutions, present to design team and if approved apply in field

· Weekly meetings with project stakeholders to ensure expectations are aligned and being met

· Ensuring all permits are in order, scheduling and standing all inspections (DBI, DPW, special inspections, etc)

· Layout and back check of trades with benchmarks

Primary administrative responsibilities include:

· Building and reviewing schedules and budgets

· Memorialize any changes from contract documents (drawings) in email to appropriate project stakeholders

· Track job costs and changes making sure they are copasetic with job budgets and schedules

· Daily reports for each job site are recorded and uploaded to google drive weekly

· Weekly safety meetings are being reported and filed in google drive.

· Weekly time-cards are correct and uploaded to google drive weekly

Required Experience

· Years of construction experience with hands on experience in carpentry of all kinds as well as managerial or indirect experience in major trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, plaster, drywall, etc)

· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast pace often high energy atmosphere

· Communicate clearly both orally and in writing

· Valid driver’s license

· Physical strength and ability to be able to walk up and down stairs/ladders, move in uneven terrain (loose dirt, rebar, wall plates) and lift heavy material. Also, exposure to dust, fumes and heat/cold

· Fluent in software including Microsoft Office (word, excel, and project), Bluebeam, Google Drive

· Proficient in Sketchup or AutoCAD and common construction management programs (Procore, Viewpoint, etc.)
