Acton Construction is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter.

The Role:
A successful Acton ADU Apprentice Carpenter works closely with Acton ADU Foreman and Journeyman Carpenters to provide assistance and help make sure customers are happy and job sites are clean, while learning framing, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. 
Your objectives are to:
  • Assists Foremen and Journeymen Carpenters. 
  • Ensure the craftsmanship of each project meets Acton ADU standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
Skill requirements:
  • Possesses a minimum of apprentice level hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 100 pounds.
  • Driver’s license and good driving record.
Responsibilities:
  • Labor: You are responsible for performing any labor required by the Foremen or Journeyman Carpenters.
  • Trade Contractors: It is your responsibility to assist with ensuring that all trade contractors adhere to all of our company policies and procedures concerning safety, customer satisfaction, cleanliness, alcohol and substance abuse, etc.
  • Housekeeping: You must maintain a clean worksite. This is important for many reasons, chief among them are your safety and efficiency. Furthermore, a sloppy site reflects negatively on our work and on our company. Broom-clean all project sites daily. Properly store and/or promptly haul away all debris. Do not smoke nor allow trade contractors to smoke on the job. Protect the client’s property from dust and mud according to company standards. Make sure our trade contractors follow the same housekeeping rules.
  • Safety: One of your top priorities is job safety for both the client and our team. Ensure safe job-site conditions by monitoring both our team and equipment for proper safety features, safe electrical cords, etc. And inform the Foreman of any unsafe conditions that you are unable to control yourself. Proper safety equipment and precautions must be used where appropriate; do not allow corners to be cut where safety is concerned. 
  • Scheduling: It is your responsibility to know where and when you will be working prior to the start of each day.
  • “Paper” Work: You are required to fill out your electronic time card before leaving the job site each day.
  • Planning and Reporting: The Carpenter Apprentice reports directly to the Carpenter Foreman.
