ROLE
The Entrepreneurship Program Manager is a vital role on our small entrepreneurial and dynamic team. You are responsible for driving Activation Capital's program management across our entrepreneurship pillar. You possess deep project management experience, love learning, and have a passion for entrepreneurship. The span of work for the role encompasses federal and state grants requiring a high level of communication and relationship building with a keen attention to detail. This position is a full-time, salaried position with attractive benefits and is located in Richmond, Virginia reporting to the Vice President of Entrepreneurship.

• Oversee Activation Capital’s entrepreneurship programming goals; coordinating activities across multiple projects with special attention paid to program strategy, implementation, and alignment across the entrepreneurship pillar
• Day-to-Day activities include; planning/monitoring program execution, budget management, cross-project resource management, risk identification and mitigation, documentation and communication, and continuous alignment of deliverables to meet program objectives
• Support entrepreneurship event management activities

Entrepreneurship Development & Member Relations

• Project management for Activation Capital’s deep tech acceleration program, which advances development of startup companies pursuing promising new technologies
• Engage with Activation Capital member organizations and work with the member relations and entrepreneurship team to further build the pipeline of member companies
• Work with the marketing and membership team to create an attraction campaign to increase virtual and on-site membership

Grant Management

• Working with the Grants Management Team, apply consistent management processes across grant portfolio to ensure 100% compliance and excellence in execution
• Manage ongoing program/project owners and consistently monitor KPIs across portfolio (i.e. accounting/finance on remaining budget, grant administrators on project status, executives on critical path concerns)
• As necessary, lead project management of individual grants (from thousands to millions of dollars in value)
• Working with the team to establish the organization as a leader in state and federal grants pursuit, management, compliance, and execution

Also, includes other duties not otherwise specified including ad hoc projects. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a science related background strongly preferred; PMP a plus but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management with skill and experience using project management software, developing project plans and work breakdown structures, basics of earned value management.
• Demonstrated aptitude in vendor management, constructing statements of work, and supporting procurement processes.
• Experience with grant management – federal/state; preferred
• Ability to form successful partnerships and build/maintain relationships with diverse partners, organizations, and stakeholders; a collaborative team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience/interest in life science innovation and entrepreneurship/ecosystem development a major plus
• Professional who can effectively communicate with executives, staff, grantors, and key stakeholders including board presentations
