Action Youth America is Hiring a Sports Coach - After School Programs (PT) Near Long Beach, CA

CALLING ALL COACHES! We are seeking energetic candidates who have the ability to coach, manage and actively supervise middle school students.

We are looking for coaches that specialize in the following categories:

Soccer.
Football.
Cheer.
Basketball.
Volleyball.

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who have the ability to manage and actively supervise youth after school. Our sites are located within the city of Long Beach, partnered with Long Beach Unified School District. Program Leaders may work at any AYA program sites and receive their assignments based on their availability and AYA program needs.

General Role:

Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Program Leaders/coaches work directly with students at a school site.
Assist in the development and implementation of sport, enrichment, nutrition and other physical activity sessions.
Act as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor to the students.
Maintain consistent supervision and active involvement with students at all times.
Ensure the safety of the students while following a prescribed program sports plan.
Develop engaging and creative lesson plans for respective sport.
Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have a background and extensive knowledge of respective sport.
Minimum six months experience working with a group of 10 or more students in a classroom setting, after-school, or recreational environment.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
Ideal candidates will have completed a minimum of 48 College/University Units - or must pass a District administered test.
Commit to a full school year.
Must be vocal and able to interact with children of all ages and backgrounds.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
Must pass TB test and TDap test.
Must have reliable transportation.

Hours and Scheduling: Monday to Friday, schedule varies between 2:30pm-6:30pm.

Start Date: ASAP.

COVID-19 LBUSD District Guideline: All staff must be vaccinated or obtain valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test weekly.
