Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and techniques of sewer repair, maintenance, and installation.
• Knowledge of materials used in system repair and construction.
• Knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety rules and precautions in equipment operation and repair.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules involved in equipment operation.
• Knowledge of blue stake requirements.
• Skill in the use and care of tools and mechanical equipment.
• Skill in operation of a backhoe in traffic areas and in and around underground utilities.
• Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and engineering sketches.
• Ability to detect needed maintenance, repairs and operational adjustments in equipment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to plan and direct the work of subordinate employees.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
• Ability to work with raw sewage and chemicals using normal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in small, cramped spaces and comply with confined space entry procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (100 lbs.) short distances (100 feet or less).
• Ability to climb ladders to enter or exit manholes or vaults.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
