Key job responsibilities

1. Programming: Working to requirements and priorities set by the GSE Automation team, develop, configure and deploy software solutions to provide automated test and manufacturing capabilities on the factory floor.
2. QA: Conduct end-to-end testing of automated manufacturing and test applications to ensure all requirements are being met before hand-off to production.
3. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including teams in Production Operations, IT and Digital Operations (KET), to ensure successful project execution and completion.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all integrated systems comply with internal IT and Security standards, with designs and code that is well-documented and version controlled. Contribute to the overall architecture for a high-performing, connected, safe and maintainable factory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

1. *Python programming skills
2. *Labview programming skills
3. *Experience developing software that directly interacts with hardware
4. *Experience developing on the Ignition SCADA platform, or other user interfaces in an operational environment
5. *Working knowledge of Ethernet-based industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP etc)
6. *Working knowledge of fieldbus protocols such as Profinet and CAN
7. *Knowledge of security best practices (encryption in transit, encryption at rest,establishing chains of trust etc.)
8. *Knowledge of using version control systems such as Git
9. *Knowledge in different web technologies and data formats (i.e. HTTP/HTTPS, JSON/XML)
10. *Cross-organizational communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written form.
11. *A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 4-7 years of relevant experience is required.
