Job Description:

Under general direction and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy (HBC) team, the BMT/CAR-T Nurse Coordinator provides expert nursing care for BMT or CAR T-cell patients, including allogeneic or autologous recipients and/or allogeneic or autologous donors with a variety of complex treatment options. The nurse coordinator serves as a contact point for BMT or CAR T-cell recipients and/or donors, family members, referring physicians, staff as well as a contact point for the coordination and facilitation of the care of the patient in specialty and procedural areas. The BMT/CART Nurse Coordinator provides leadership for collaborative and multidisciplinary patient care with emphasis on education and continuity of patient care for the entire period of care including inpatient, outpatient or both. The BMT/CAR-T Nurse Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the care of BMT or CAR T-cell patients to ensure they reach their maximum health potential before and/or after transplant or CAR-T therapy. Specific daily responsibilities include triaging patient calls and lab results, coordinating studies and specialty referrals, pending orders, providing ongoing BMT or CAR T-cell patient education, directing the coordination of care for the BMT or CAR T-cell patient across disciplines, and care continuum as needed. Nurse coordinators will focus on the evaluation and workup of the BMT or CAR-T candidate, and/or the evaluation and workup of the donor.

This position will support the HBC team by communicating with patients on behalf of providers. The nurse will coordinate changes to treatment plans as delegated by the provider. The nurse coordinator will educate patient on any changes and document in the EHR.

Must Have Skills:

• 2 years experience
• RN License
• AHA BLS
• Experience with Bone Marrow Transplant or CAR-T patients
• Nurse coordination experience
