QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job duties and meet the qualifications listed below:

• Must be a licensed registered nurse.
• Must meet the agency conditions for employment and the requirements for Child Abuse Index and Fingerprinting clearance.
• 5 Years Experience desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tuberculin Skin Test placement of adult clients and pediatric clinic children; referrals as needed.
• Ability to follow San Francisco Department of Public Health protocols for Infectious disease reporting.
• Childcare health consulting.
• Must be familiar with exclusion policies, medication administration to childcare clients as needed.
• Order medical supplies such as vaccines.
• Competent in administration and teaching clients and staff.
• Telephone triage with community families.
• Ordering, reviewing drug U/As, and consulting as needed.
• Conduct adult health assessments and treatment planning.
• Conduct pediatric, newborn assessments.
• Ability to do addiction nursing, impact if substance use on adults, perinatally families.
• Manage pediatric well child clinic, anthropometric measuring, etc.
• Competent with basic adult, pediatric, newborn health teaching, and breastfeeding support.
• Teach health promotion classes.
• Effectively communicates with management, coworkers, clients, and personnel associated with outside agencies.
• Ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support public health nursing such as promotion of health, prevention of illness, and maintenance of health newborn-adult relationship.
• Acknowledges agency safety policies and procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
• Supports and implements the MSJ-SE mission and the philosophy of the Daughters of Charity.
