Description:

Operations Manager needed to join team to support Engineering team and working through new product development on to production floor. Candidate must have extensive experience with engineering manufcaturing including ISO 9001 or AS9100 tolerances.

Requirements:

- 8 years experience as an Operations Manager

- Experience in fast paced custom manufacturing environment preferred (optics or sensor preferred)

- Ability to meet production quality and quantity metrics

- People management experience

- Experience working with an Engineering team to get a product out the door

Description:

• Proactive Nature and Urgency: The candidate must have experience with hands-on production team management and be willing to work with the operations team in all capacities when necessary.

• Resilience and Tenacity: Must stay strong and persistent when facing challenges and setbacks, demonstrating the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties in an environment where ambiguity exists and drive through to completion.

• Motivational Leadership: Ability to build, lead, and inspire individuals while developing a positive team environment.

• Able to read schematics, mechanical drawings and write work instructions, and have a demonstrated ability to solder and troubleshoot electromechanical devices.

• 10 years of progressive experience in hands-on assembly and manufacturing of complex products with at least five years of experience managing teams in a small company setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on Troubleshooting: Solve problems and troubleshoot issues related to instrument assembly and other areas using structured root cause analysis and the development of viable countermeasures.

• Resource Management: Partner with the Business Development team and Service Manager to translate the sales funnel into daily/weekly production plans, deliver monthly shipment targets, and ensure continued growth in gross margin.

• Cultivate a High-Performance Team Culture: Actively direct all operations departments, including assembly, logistics, quality, supply chain, and facilities, to ensure delivery of products and services on time and cost to our commitments to clients.

• Process Optimization and Innovation: Lead by example in identifying and implementing innovative solutions and improvements to operational processes in a lean manufacturing environment.
