Global, multidisciplinary firm is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer with 1-5 years of experience to support a large backlog of USACE infrastructure projects. Candidate will need to have EIT license with ability to eventually obtain PE. This team is currently supporting projects on existing and new locks and dams. Candidate ideally has knowledge of Microstation, Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Ansys. Candidates with experience designing for large moving mechanical components in aerospace or automotive industry would have transferable skills.

Assist with planning and designing water resource and navigation projects such as lock and dams; hydraulic structures such as gates and valves, hoists and cranes, hydropower plants, pump stations; and mechanical systems associated with ports and harbors.

Assist with the preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for project.

Prepare design calculations.

Convert designs to working drawings and/or work with technical staff to convert designs into working drawings.

Assists with construction cost estimates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

1 to 5 years relevant mechanical engineering experience.

EIT required

Experience in conceptual and detailed design of mechanical elements for water resources and navigation structures a plus.

Knowledge of MicroStation, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Ansys, and Inventor software a plus, but not required.

Experience with USACE or other federal or local government agencies preferred, but not required.
